Motaba (listed first only because she's older) is our cat. "Domestic Shorthair" is the closest I can come to a breed. Motaba (usually shortened to Mo) is also known to some as "Sewer Kitty" because she was found in a storm drain by a friend's daughter. Since they already had a full slate of animals at their place, we lucked out and got to adopt her...

Curly is our dachshund.. He's a miniature dachshund, although if you get all AKC-technical he's a 'tween' because he weighs around 12 pounds.

I got him in during a trip to Virginia from Colorado. Nancy and I had identified a breeder in West Virginia, so I drove over while I was in the area. Since she had some pups available, I went ahead and selected Curly. Of course now I had a dog to transport home, so I had to go buy some supplies, including a carrier. He traveled exceptionally well on the flight home.

Hint to single guys looking to meet girls - playing with a dog, especially a puppy will get you more positive attention than anything else you can do. Doesn't matter where - airport, park, sidewalk in front of your house...
