Motaba the cat

The name Motaba comes from the movie Outbreak, with Dustin Hoffman , Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Donald Sutherland.

The Motaba virus is a virus similar to Ebola with a high rate of contagion and nearly 100% mortality. I named the cat Motaba because, like exposure to the virus, I was sure that having her around the house would kill me eventually.

As you can see from her photo gallery here, she enjoys putting herself in quirky spots to observe the world.

Some friends in Colorado stopped by for a visit and brought the baby. The car seat was still rocking from being set down and the cat had occupied it. We were cleaning our bathroom and Mo kept getting underfoot. Just before I was going to launch her out the window and off the deck, she decided that this would be a good observation post.

While we were packing for the move from Colorado to Virginia, Curly was mercilessly harassing the cat. Fortunately for her, she can jump a little higher than he can. On rare occassions, they both run out of steam at the same time.
